134.2 khz rfid reader circuit after some smaller tutorial project with my arduino uno, I want to use a 5V 134.2 kHZ rfid reader to read animal tags (these are usually working at 134.2 kHz). In my App (Android studio java) I'm trying to read a payload from a specific tag with result of type ndefFormatable and NfcV. Once I get the intent and identify the tag by: Tag tag = .Toast.makeText(this,"NFC on resume working",Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); byte[] tagId = getIntent().getByteArrayExtra(NfcAdapter.EXTRA_ID); Log.i("EHEHEHEHEHE",tagId + ""); This is the response of the code: Now this number keeps .

I am trying to create a reader that can read my cat's chip. I bought this sensor on Amazon here( LINK ). I tried to configure it, but I am not receiving any data from the RX serial port.Animal Micro Chip Scanner RFID Reader Arduino: This is a Arduino based scanner for animal micro chips. It retrieves country and animal identification number. It reads 134.2KHz frequency, ISO 11784/85, FDX-B micro chips.
I found this chip MLX90109 ( https://www.melexis.com/en/product/MLX90109/125kHz-RFID-Transceiver). It says it reads 125 kHz, but il also says it is suitable for 100 to 150 kHz frequency range transponder. You can modify the circuit shown here http://playground.arduino.cc/Main/DIYRFIDReader to work at 134.2 kHz. The coil will need to have fewer turns so that the combination of L1 and C1 . 134.2 kHz is the international standard frequency for animals, primarily livestock and cattle as described in ISO 11784/11785. The standard allows different manufacturers to make tags and readers that work together so a wide range of products are available.

If an RFID-tag is in range the blue led will light up and there should be bytes output on the serial. I added an extra TTL converter to get the reset pin to ground, which will reset the RFID. This way I can see how long the tag is still in range. Basically, connect the grounds of both together and connect the scanner tx to the Rx pin of the Arduino/pi. But! I don't think the raspberry pi has 5v tolerant pins, so if you're using that you'll need to level shift. A simple divider should do .
